Help for kitchen

Hello!!
I have a maple butcher block island that is flat, dull and not blond enough. I have rubbed mineral oil into it but still feel my island is blah and my kitchen needs some drama. The rest of my countertops are limestone. We have dark wood cabinets. What can I do to liven my maple island ??

    Hello there!
    If you're looking for that "wow" effect, we definitely recommend covering your island top with copper or zinc. Both metals look great, and while copper is definitely shinier that zinc, both change with time and add beautiful character to any room.
    Copper will darken with time, but can always be polished. As can zinc.
    For copper, we can also add a burnished look if desired.
    Zinc can also be dull, or have that mill finish look.
