We live in West Texas, hot summers but pretty cold winters, especially this year. We are replacing windows and have gotten a number of bids. I have a question about framing material. I am getting recommendations of vinyl framing in the main, but a highly recommended contractor uses aluminum with a thermal break stating that in the long run, in our heat, the vinyl frames do not hold up. Does anyone have an opinion about this or a recommendation for framing material for our climate? We plan to retire and stay in this house.
