Great Lake Windows

Anyone know of this company? I was expecting Andersen, Pella, Marvin or a name I knew but he threw me with this branch. From what I see, it is not bad (the Maxuus 2 pane with Argon gas) but I am just checking.

Ply Gem makes Great Lakes Windows. The Great Lakes line is a pretty good quality vinyl window. Especially the Uniframe. I would avoid Andersen and Pella vinyl windows. Marvin doesn't make vinyl windows.

I'll tell you in about 2 weeks as I'm getting 10 Great Lakes double hung. My contractor, whom I trust, recommended them.

Thanks to both of you. You have confirmed what I am seeing too..a solid contractors recommendation and what appears to be a pretty good window for vinyl.

Depending upon where you live the Hi-R+ (single coat Lowe) may be sufficient. My contractor, even though the Maxuus cost more, didn't feel the very slight increase in energy savings would ovecome the additional cost of the window.

We replaced all our windows and a slider with Great Lakes windows from their GrandView 5000 line. We've had them for a little over two years and have been very happy with them.
