If I understand your question, you want to take all the bevels out in order to save them. Don't know but if it were my window, I'd cut glass to fit each piece and make a whole new color design instead of the clear glass. There's just enough of the broken piece to hold the glass that would fit in that spot. Bless your bro-in-law for saving it for you.

I want to take the bevels out to make 2 smaller windows. The window is too big to leave as is. I have some gorgeous glass I want to use with the bevels. I bought it several years ago and I've waited until the inspiration came along to use it.
I've never worked with lead, only copper foil, so I'm not sure how to take this apart.

Isn't lead very soft? Seems to me you could break it w/tin snips, if it's as soft as a stained glass lamp I have. It was made in Costa Rica, and I can almost manipulate the thing w/y bare hands, it's so soft. Stained glass experts should be chiming in soon.

Do you have a soldering iron for stained glass? Just heat the lead came with the hot iron and it will melt so you can get the pieces out, or you can cut it with lead came cutters (or small wire cutter).

Ahh! The soldering iron. Now I really feel like a dufus for not thinking of that! The lead in this panel is very rigid, but the joints should melt.
I've been doing mosaics instead of stained glass windows for so long, I guess I've got grout on the brain!!
