Your steps look awesome! I'm sure your mom will appreciate your effort in making them short enough to climb. My sis with MS would appreciate it too not having to lift her leg much to climb up them.

We have the slate on our back porch. We put on a grout sealer.. not shiny... but didn't put on the rich looking slate sealer because we were afraid it would be slick. Looks like we were wrong... and I'm going to look into doing it. I'm anxious to see yours sealed!

What brand of sealer did you use, and what did you use to apply it? I'm thinking of sealing our Pennsylvania blue stone. They look great when wet, but just so-so when dry. The sealer deepens the color, right?

I am really happy with the way they turned out and thank again for all the nice compliments...it makes my day!!!!

The sealer Im using is called Stone Bright natural stone color enhancer..for honed and textured stone. You can spray it on with a sprayer or use a natural fiber brush. Oh and yes the sealer deepens the color. I will be putting another coat on when the weather permits. I bought one quart of the stuff and still have about a half of a bottle. I bought it at Home depot
