Holy Schmoley Bama!! Rich is a great description. I get a middle eastern feel on this one. I think painting the rim worked well. Love every bit of it lady! You have outdone even yourself, no small task!! When you ship it to me, just put the bill inside and I'll send you a big fat wad of money! LOL. (Man, if I had it I would!!)

I still have to put sealer on it. I had seriously thought about selling it to help pay for my Mexico trip, butI'm not sure I can bring myself to part with it. Seems silly to become attached to a piece of concrete!
I have not used the morton system for triangles. I haven't done anything but squares! I cut my squares into triangles with my liponetts.

BAMA - when ROSIE came over to see my mannequin, I showed her the little mirrors you sent me in exchange for the keys, and we both marveled at how perfectly each one was cut. Could you tell us your secret??? Do you break one at a time from a strip?

I use morton and cut one strip at a time, then one square at a time. I could do it faster by just using the grid as a guide, but a lot of the designs I do are quilt-like and every piece has a relationship with each other, so they need to be precise. (gee, sounds like I'm one of those obsessive compulsive folks,huh?)
But sometimes they still don't turn out PERFECTLY. That grips me. The ones that are "off" or leftovers go into a coffee can to be used to make abstract projects, like the chimney tile.

Magnificant! Unbelievable work! Ditto what everybody else says. I can't imagine doing something so perfect in color, design and symmetry. (Maybe I shouldn't have looked at this until I finished mine. It's looking pretty pathetic right now in comparison.)
