Starting a quick-reference appliance thread

I thought about this a bit and wondered if we should have separate threads for each appliance, (ovens, refrigerator, DW, etc) post installation. We could include a pic of the installed product, the name and model, a rating, our personal comments, pros and cons. This would give those getting ready to buy appliances a quick way to see the varying choices on the market, plus get GW reviews and opinions, and a quick look at the final product. My question is, do you think this should be here or in the appliances forum? I'd like to put it here because most of those finished installing don't frequent the appliances forum.

Has this been done before?

Great idea! I think it may do better in the Appliances forum.

Thing is, EVERYTHING here will disappear in 4-6 weeks. That's about the life of storage for threads. Then they are gone.

Other sites allow "Stickies" to keep something permanent. No luck getting the GW powers to bite on that here. You are welcome to try again.

The FAQ would be a perfect repository for such info. We put in a section for appliance info - but it hasn't yet, uh, gotten filled up. Info could be posted on threads here as you suggest, then lateraled over there for a permanent home.

Any volunteer willing to coordinate and/or move the material regularly? (Oh and field the inevitable observations that it shouldn't have do be done this way, that someone should contact GW, that it should be a sticky, etc, etc, etc, LOL)
