On the right track re: backsplash?

We've had the counters for a year, the cabs and floor will be new.

Looking at glass backsplashs as I haven't found a subway colour I love. Worried it might look too modern?

I will wait until the cabs and floor are all installed, but this insurance driven reno is driving me crazy and I want to concentrate on something that is pleasant.

The one on the left I'm leaning towards, the dark grey. Then taupe, then grey. The wall colour I think will be revere pewter, trying to get a bit more grey as we've lived with beige and brown for 9 years. I still want 'warm' though.

Please help? Thanks!

If the lightest color in your counter is cream, I would look for a cream tile.

The cabinets are the white board? I like the darker grey on the left also, at least from what I see there. I like the contrast. Will you have UCL?

Have you tested Revere Pewter? I've seen it look nice in some photos, but when I tested it in my house it looked like a drab wet cement color.

I'm not loving any of the tile samples. I think you need to keep looking ... don't give up and settle!

you can do white with that as well.

Is the cream painted sample the cabinet color, the wood the floor, and the granite your countertop? If so, I don't care for any of those tiles with your countertop. I'm not seeing grey tones in it.

    Thanks for the opinions.

neroselover- there is some taupe and black and grey in the counter. And yes, the cream is the cab, the wood is the floor and the quartz is the counter.

chispa-I have some poster boards up in the house and have looked at it. I'm getting tired looking at greys, I've had so many SW colours up as well with no luck. A lot look purple. So far the RP is the best.

OOTM-we will have UCL, they are a warm led. It totally changes the colour of what's going on with the backsplash.

I think I will keep looking at tiles, and probably stay away from the glass. I like a simple subway, but haven't found the right colour yet. I'll have to wait for cabs etc. to all be in, but wanted to try to narrow it down.

    Thanks!

You have two dark elements with the floor and counters, so I wouldn't use a dark tile.

Don't focus on the color of the small speckles in your counter. Look at what it reads from a distance. It reads brown. You will end up with a brown counter and gray tile, not the best combination. I have seen that mistake made many times.

I had a hard time finding a greige that wasn't too grey or purple. I ended up going with SW Toney Taupe. Beautiful cool neutral. Love it.
