need help with over-sink lighting

'm in something of a quandry about what's best to do for lighting over the sink. Here's the general look for that wall:

I will have undercab lighting, in-cab lighting in the two glass front cabinets, and a chandelier in the dining part of the room (roughly where you would be standing to see this view), but I don't know what do about the sink area. The ceiling is poured concrete, so it's not really possible to add ceiling lighting. (The chandelier box was put in during construction.)

So it seems to me that the two possible options are:

1. Add a wooden valance between the two flanking cabinets, which would allow me to use a downlight mounted to a hidden board behind the valance.

2. Use a wall sconce. There is a sconce that coordinates with the chandelier.

The kitchen will have white painted cabinets and probably wood countertops. There is a small cornice crown above the cabinets, although it's not very visible in the picture and there will be a slightly deeper crown molding around the non-cabinet areas of the room. It's only an 8 ft ceiling and I just couldn't spare the extra couple of inches to keep the room crown consistent in the cabinet areas, but if I did the sconce, I could run that crown over the window between the cabinets. If I did the valance, I would use the narrower cabinet crown on it.

Ideas?
