Did you wash the walls first before applying? It makes a difference in how well it will go on.

I'm no expert either, so take this for what it is worth, but I don't think a primer has to completely block out the under-color. I would only worry that the streaks were caused by varying thicknesses of the primer, which might then show through the top coats. Try posting this on the painting forum and see what the experts say.

Dilly, did I wash the walls? No I didn't because when I've had painters doing the work they never washed them so didn't figure I'd need to.

If SW Blonde is in the yellow family, you should know that yellows have very poor covering ability. It frequently takes multiple coats to get yellow to look right.

We just did the LR in Blonde a few weeks ago and it covered really well. Hope I have as much luck in the MB. :)
