While I like both colors, Shaker Beige has pink undertones. I think Manchester Tan would go better with your baby turtle. Having said that your room is so large you could go with a deeper color. I think it may look washed out in a room so large.

I prefer the Shaker Beige, but I do think you should go deeper with the color, you have a large room with very high ceilings, it would give the room a more cozier feel.

I would like to keep the room a light color. I do have deeper colors in other rooms -- green kitchen (baby turtle), gold dining room (york harbor yellow), red living room (moroccan red). I was going for a more neutral, soothing look in the family room. Looking for something in the warm tan color family. I am very afraid of the pink undertone. Any recommendations in Benjamin Moore paint?

Manchester Tan! I think it goes especially well with Baby Turtle, too - grand space!

I would go with Manchester Tan because of the possibility of seeing pink with the Shaker.

On my monitor, the mock-ups look pretty much the same, but since I had Manchester Tan throughout my house at one time and loved it it gets my vote. :-)

homemaker - did the Manchester Tan look green in your house? I love pictures I've seen of MT on line. They look like the warm tan I want. The samples I painted on my walls look a little green.

If you're looking for a warm tan, you can't go wrong with Manchester Tan. We've used it throughout a house before.....and have one room presently that's Manchester Tan. Could be your lighting that makes it look a little green. We initially thought it looked a little gray, BUT the more we painted the more tan it looked(exactly like the paint chip).

This should be easy, I wouald go with MT, BUT which one looks good with the fireplace? I would complement that or youwill have them fighting agt each other. Can youpost a pic of the sample next to the brick?

I think they are both great colors which is why they are both so popular. I used Shaker Beige in my kitchen/family room and was worrying about the pink-ness but I have to say I absolutely do not see any pink tones there whatsoever. I don't know why but I see pretty much tan-if anything some kind of yellow and gray if that makes any sense?!!

You have a lovely home. I vote for Shaker Beige because I like the warmth and tone for your rooms. I've used Benj Moore for years and am familiar with these historic colors, and used them in my clients' homes. The Manchester Tan can get a little green, especially in rooms that face north and east. The pinkish cast to the Shaker Beige is what makes it warm and inviting. Good luck. You probably won't go wrong with either color.

Shaker Beige is warmer. So what if it has pink undertones? I don't see any colors that a pink undertone would clash with anyway. I vote Shaker Beige.

at the risk of being a ...wha, wha....Debbie Downer... I don't care for either color and think that there must be a better choice out there. I know that monitors can change how these things appear, so please don't place too much weight in my humble opinion if it is off base. To me, your brick has a lot of pink and brown in it that needs to not fight with the wall color.

Since you probably still have your photo uploaded in the Benjamin Moore Website, can you try some other colors?
