paint color help??

Hey!!

Master bedroom....picked up a card from BM. Do any of these colors work?? I am drawn to the deeper one, I think Van Courtland BLue but I am always drawn to deeper colors...this is for painting the bathroom not the bedroom - althou I would really like to paint the ceiling a light blue. But I would have to hire that one out:(

And here is the bad 80's prom dress chaise!! LOL

Althou, I keep hearing about Ellen Kennon paints and I do have an ICI nearby....should I go for one of these paints?? I am not good with blues - don't even know how I ended up with a blue bedroom but I find it calming and relaxing.

Smiles:)

I'll let the paint geniuses answer your paint questions. I just wanted to remark that your bedroom is just beautiful! Nice work!

Ellen Kennon's Wedgwood would be the first chip I pulled for that bathroom. If the ceiling is scheduled for paint, I'd suggest her Aqua ceiling with Wedgwood walls.

Beautiful room, even the prom dress chaise is pretty. :-)

What a wonderful room! Everything is very elegant, yet comfortable.

It may just be my monitor, but your upholstery and bedding reads more aqua undertone, while the van courtland blue reads more of a grey-blue by comparison. I think you need a different deep blue.

Although I love the idea of a deeper blue, I am wondering if it will take away from the upholstery. WOuld you consider a really deep bronze color, kind of like the detail in the third pix? Then a rich blue on the ceiling. I think that would really make your upholstery and bedding sing.

I also wonder about your beautiful drapes against more blue. Your room is so beautiful as it is, especially all of your fabrics that work so well together. I did love my old Dining room color; BM guiet moments, just didn't work in my DR. I would love to see that on your ceiling with a deeper gold on the walls; and maybe use a slightly deeper shade of blue on your Bathroom walls. It's going to be just gorgeous.

I am not a paint guru but I kind of like the color you have in there now! I agree that the blues may compete and I am a monochromatic kind of gal.
As far as EK paints - the aqua may be too intense for the ceiling - maybe alexandra blue. It is hard to tell on my monitor though.

I have to agree you have a gorgeous bedroom!

Thanks all. My big ole 110 lb dog loves the "prom dress" chaise!! Hee Hee

I was hoping to only paint the bathroom not the bedroom!! The Wilmington Tan that is in there now looks nice with the bedding and drapes, althou, I would love a blue ceiling.

Do the ICI stores have samples of Ellen Kennon colors??

It is "in town" and I hate to make a dry run.

First of all I have to say how beautiful, calm, and restful your bedroom is. Its the exact color scheme that I am going for in my bedroom. It reminds me of sand and sea:)
I think a blue would be perfect in your bath. I just had my bath painted a light blue(BM whispering spring)and was amazed at how much deeper it seemed once it was up. For that reason, I would go with BM wedgewood gray (a great color, btw) in the bath, and the do your bedroom ceiling woodlawn blue. I think it would look fabulous!
