Most Uba-Tubas I've seen have had a green hint in them, some carmel/tan & maybe a little white. I've never heard of a Uba Tuba with a blue in it. Have you loked at Englash Brown/Saphire Brown ? That's the only one I can think of right now with kinda those colors.

you really need to go to the granite yard yourself and look a the slabs--they differ depending on when they were mined

Thanks. We have been to two granite yards & the fabricator's yard also. We cannot find a color we like that goes in our kitchen that is in our price range. We are getting desperate. I am hunting for names to look @ the next time we go. The granite yards are over 2 hrs away, so we can't go too often.

I've never seen an UbaTuba I didn't like, as ubiquitous as it is.

Have you seen Verde Peacock? It has more blue than Uba Tuba but is similar in background color.

I urge you to visit a slab or granite yard to really
see up close the colors. I thought UbaTuba was the stone
for me. It is definitely beautiful but I fell in love
with something else in person.

And keep in mind each slab of granite is going to be
slightly different. It is from nature. No two leaves
are alike nor rocks.

My uba tuba looks like a soft black from a distance but once you get closer the warm tones of green, gold and even brown pop out at you. HOWEVER, i am in the process of picking paint for my cabs and have noticed with each shades of "white" that ive tested, the granite looks different. Good Luck!!

Hello again--thanks to all of you I went to the kitchen store & brought home a sample of Uba Tuba. We like it. Not sure if it is "the one", but a possibility. I did look @ Sapphire Blue & Verde Peacock & maybe Blue Peacock(?). My husband liked Uba Tuba the best.

As others have already said, Uba Tuba varies quite widely, depending on where it's from. I saw a counter in one kitchen store that I thought was absolutely gorgeous (lots and lots of gold)- I couldn't believe them when they said it was Uba Tuba. Another blue/black to look for is Butterfly Blue- though I can tell you from personal experience (not good- unfortunately) that it also can vary quite widely from piece to piece.
