Where did you buy them ? Can you take it up with the retailer, who can then take it up with the distributor? Someone owes you a new hinge.

call back and ask again on monday. get the service reps name and document each phone call. then receipt-request a response to them where you cc the better business bureau or some offical organization and someone else in the company. don't take no for an answer.

If they honor the warranty, I would bet that they would send you the wrong piece. Given the cost of the fix, I think your trip(s) to Margaritaville, venting here, and fixing yourself is the best option.
