white kitchen backsplash help

I've been here before seeking backsplash help and I'm finally ready to pull trigger (18 mo after kitchen completion!) I've decided to tile the backs of the 2 niches (currently mirrored) and I've recut the 4" backsplash that came with counter to act as sill in each niche. So now the tile. Initially, I assumed I'd do a subway...classic, no brainer. But I just see it everywhere now and would like this kitchen to have a little more personality. I'm in love with pip's kitchen backsplash...i have same counter. Though I contacted her supplier and seems i can't get that one. (though I did find onyx elsewhere and i'm waiting on sample to arrive.) I've found 2 that my gut says would look great...a little bit of a contemporary edge. The white one looks pretty and it brightens space (no windows on L of kitchen cab walls) but I fear it might be a little cold and again the white cab/white backsplash combo seems to be everywhere in the white kitchen world. I'm drawn to the stained glass b/c of the way the light reflects it, it lends a warm vibe and i feel like it feeds off the walnut counter on island...the thin ones almost seem like grass cloth to me! (thought i might put in niches.) But my fear w/ both choices is this style--am I crazy to think this works in my kitchen? It's so far from where I began. Everyone seems to think stacked only works in contemporary...and I agree if the tiles are multicolored and grouted with contrasting white...but i plan to grout with same color as tile. But I'm reaching out for opinions...need to be sure! And does anyone think the stained glass color looks like pee?! Please note..this pic of the tiny stained glass looks much yellower than it does in person. It's got a gold/green vibe and i think it blends...but am I crazy?!!! Ive also never worked with glass--it's so delicate, little nervous!

Here are pics that should help:

www.ecdiskin.blogspot.com I've posted the pics there...if you look at older post you can see the whole room/surrounding areas. I think it's a little tricky to judge now that i have the walls of splash area painted as the dining room is..it's a bluer/greyer vibe for sure. the stained glass would change that color to a gold/green tone. all opinions welcome!!! thanks!
