So exciting! My walls are not that tangerine color but you are looking at the cabinets, right?

For comparison the before....

Kellie- looking good. What is the space on the front of the peninsula for?

Kellie! That looks awesome! It's so hard to picture the kitchen that way after your old one was so tiny and less open. It must feel great to see the cabs up instead of in boxes in your living room for a year.

Wait though. You're missing something. There's no 4 legged family member in that pic. How did you get Deuce and Tabby to stay out of the way? :)

Makes your kitchen, look so bright, Like the color you, picked for the cabinet's. Your on your way.

What are you doing up this early, Night Owl?!!

Deuce and Tabi had already crashed for the night when i took this picture. They are getting tired of these late hours also!

The space between the cabinets is for a perching stool. I did not want an eating bar but I wanted Breezy to be able to perch and chat with me while I worked in the kitchen. Bed Bath and Beyond has one that is narrow enough to tuck completely under the countertop when not being used.

Did I mention that countertop construction starts today?!!

Love the looks of your cabinets! I am looking for that style and close to that color. What brand of cupboards are they and what style and color? Also, for your fridge surround, did you just extend the wall on the left side, and then use a fridge panel on the right? My fridge is going to be by the door between kitchen and living room and I am trying to figure out how to finish it off. I like the idea of a wall on the doorway side, but didn't want to use the extra inches for a sheetrock wall on the other side as well. Will be anxious to see what it looks like with the fridge installed, but liking it so far!

Looking really great! How exciting to see it come together.

Kraftmaid cabinets. I believe it is Westwood in a hickory with Praline stain.
As for the fridge area, we removed a small pantry, moved the right wall over a couple inches. My genius husband figured out how to do it without having to demolish. We then added an oven cabinet and a cabinet over the fridge. The wall on the left was existing.

I did not mean to post them side by side. Into that area we added an oven cabinet on the right and a cabinet over the fridge. Wall on left was existing.

Fantastic! I love the little stool perch place.

I get my own stool? Aaahhhhwww....

Thanks for explaining the walls in the fridge area. Even looking at the pics, I couldn't put it together.

Please post more when the laminate is in!

What? You don't want to come see it in person? LOL!! The way our lives are going it would be next year!

Countertops are being worked on while I'm having surgery today. I cannot wait to see these huge sheets of laminate become my counters!

    Kelly,
Thanks so much for the information on the cabinets. Very ingenious around the fridge, and a possibility for us. Thanks for the idea.

Looking good!! Beautiful cabs. Good to see your doggie is keeping an eye on things.

Nice looking cabinets and such a difference from before. Can't wait to see more. I also wondered what that indent was from a previous picture and that's a neat idea.

    Wow! What a beautiful change!
I love your doggie too! So well behaved!

It was very cool to come home from the hospital yesterday and see my countertops three quarters done! Once they finish the laminate I'll take more pictures.

Having all the doors on the cabinets really changed the feeling!

Current kitchen as of this morning. A far cry from what I had!

Holy cow!! That looks like a kitchen! A real, grown-up kitchen! Not a tiny, grungy, old, falling apart closet masquerading as a kitchen. And I see a doggie butt, too!

I hope you continue to heal well from surgery. Take care!

Congratulations! It looks good. I hope you recuperate well after your surgery.

Wow, that is looking gooooooood! You must be on cloud nine.

.............and here it sits. Well, not quite. The Wilsonart HD laminate is installed and is really beautiful. Everything else hinges on the floor installation. Not only is the flooring we took many hours choosing two to three weeks out but now DH has decided that he didn't like the price so we are back to square one.

Oh, well. This keeps me from having to entertain for the holidays!
