Love your colorful home! How about blue? Or, blue with coral piping? I like your gold idea as well. Love this chesterfield. The last is gray leather.

Keep the high ticket items neutral, beige, gray, green, off white. You can always add pillows and change the carpet inexpensively. You will never tire of neutral furniture.

Thank you for this input so far. Hmmm, I have not considered blue before, but there is a lot of navy in my rug. I do like the yellow, but do you think a softer yellow would work too? I agree with the advice about the neutral, and I have a pretty woven sample in cream I'm considering, but because I do have such strong colors elsewhere and yellow walls it seems like the cream stands out more than recedes, like it doesn't belong. In all the pictures I find with a cream sofa, usually the walls are cream as well. Any other thoughts or advice?

I'd suggest a new sofa and chair. Cream pillows would be a nice touch.

Dear Susan, from the picture the pear painting and the green lounge don't seem to work with the room. Is the pear color in the rug? If so either get the lounge to match the pear color of the painting or change the picture to have coral in it or the color of the lounge you purchase.
