Our living room is small what kind of couch and colors would go with the colors on the walls. Should I change the blinds to a white color? Please help me.

I would do a dark red paint on the walls, it would give you that warm feeling by the fireplace when your cold or during the winter and it would also look great with the wood flooring.

Since it looks like the living room is open to other rooms, it would help people to understand your situation better if you posted photos of the entire space. You asked for advice regarding color of couch? Should we assume that you like the wall paint and will not be changing it? Do you have other furniture that you will be using in the room? I noticed an outlet in the middle of the wall over the fireplace. Do you plan to hang a TV in that space? Do you have children or pets? In what direction do the liviing room windows face, and do they get direct sunlight or is there an overhang, such as a patio cover or tree, preventing some light from entering the windows? Do you live in a hot climate or a cold or moderate one? At least on your monitor, is the color in the photo the true color of the room? Some designers may benefit from knowing the type of paint and paint color, since color can appear so different on different computer monitors.

You have lots of options that would work beautifully with the wall colours you have. The only thing I would avoid is a taupe/beige sofa that is too yellow - as it will clash with the ochre tones of the other wall. Personally I would love to see the whole room in the blue tones of the fireplace wall! If that's not possible though, stick with light neutrals such as a cream linen sofa, or try a warm camel colour or chocolate fabric or leather.

Changing the blinds to white would be a more classic look, and reduce the number of colours you have working in the space already. Another option would be to try a lovely white Roman blind, rather than a venetian.

If you post more photos or ideas we may be able to help you further :)

    Warm regards,
    Anna

The soffit with can lights in yellow color is jumping out. I recommend a color that will make this receed into the wall. I will look for a link for sofa groupings/chair styles. It would really help if we had an idea how often this room will be used. Seems often since next to kitchen...

this room, for example is part of the kitchen area....wall colors and window coverings somewhat different than yours but gives an idea on how to with wood floors, windows, and color groupings...

also; this is what someone did with their soffit. You could incorporate shelving, or change out the lighting. Unsure if you can (or even want to) remove it, so if it needs to stay, look at making it blend better with your style. This photo is modern and your home is traditional. So, it's only to spark ideas...

My colors are mystic gold and wrought iron we will have to stick to what colors we have. I love all the advice given. The living room is open to the kitchen and dining room the kitchen has an island. My boyfriend is in a wheel chair so I do need space for his wheel chair. We are liking the idea of going with a light color couch what type of colors should we use for pillows? We are going to put a tv up on the fireplace we have not purchased furniture yet not sure of what colors to go with. No children we do have a bulldog his name is Reggie he is an inside pet. We are both seniors. The windows faces east and have two more facing north by the front door entrance. The wrought iron looks green or bluish for some reason but standing right next to it it will be darker. We live in California, Ojai the weather is hot during the summer and cold in the winter. My boyfriend just bought the house we have not furnished it yet taking one day at a time. I apologize for the late respond and we thank you for all the support.

You chose your wall colors off the BM site, I bet. Then continue on with the "going to the chapel" for your sofa (maybe a slipcover) and then use the BM site to choose accent colors for your pillows. I would paint the mantel white and, if you can, change out the dark blinds for Plantation shutters.
