Redesign of sons room

I need some help. We just bought my son new bedroom furniture. He now wants a sports theme room so were going with football, basketball and baseball. We are trying to figure out the best wall color to go with accessories of brown, green, orange, red and white. We originally wanted navy but now I'm not so sure. We do want a darker color. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Our son has chosen the three sports as he plays and loves all three. No posters for this room..... Lots of other plans to make the three sports come together (fan blades each painted as a different ball), bookshelves built with baseballs, small basketball hoop, closet doors that look like lockers, window treatments made out of sports pennants, etc). I have the rest of the plan but that wall color and we all wanted dark. The furniture you see is the only furniture in the room. He has a dresser which is a lighter wood but will be painted and each of the three drawers will be a different ball (basketball, baseball and football. Lots of light in this room too. I was also considering an ocean blue color like the one attached. I am normally not a blue person so I'm struggling.

Navy is a good choice if you want a dark colour that goes with orange, red, green, white and the brown of his furniture. Test a couple of options out to see what works best in his room.

Why a dark color with all the heavy dark furniture, I would paint a very neutral color and get sports posters framed to hang on the wall that can be changed as his teams change and I would stick to his favorite sport instead of trying to hit them all.

Why pick just one colour when you can do something like this? Unfortunately I only have underwater and flying pictures here, but we can print anything - perhaps an empty playing field under a beautiful blue sky?

Laqfoil - how do those apply. We thought about a football field originally but it's tough as we have textured walls. How much does something like that cost if the dimensions 12'w x 4'h

Consider painting a light neutral on the walls and adding three life size figures of his favorite players in each sport from FATHEAD. They can also make a custom decal of your son in his uniforms.

Were not really decal people. Maybe a fathead for the man cave or playroom but not the bedroom.

Our product is not decals. It's a sheet of woven nylon, dipped in another polymer which makes it nonporous (so it doesn't absorb odours or grow mould). It covers as much or as little as you wish - we cut and print it to size according to your individual installation. The installation process involves screwing narrow profiles (also called 'tracks') into the walls/ceiling around the perimeter of the installation, and then pushing the edges of the membrane into the profiles. There is no adhesive involved. We do the installation for you, there's no dust, fumes or mess, and we usually have it done in less than a half day. Nothing needs to dry afterwards. It is completely removable, replaceable, and recyclable if you decide that you would like something else later on.

Gray was a thought too but my eyes keep going to the darker slate and bluish grays.... :/

We are having Our boys' rooms painted in SW agreeable grey with an accent wall painted in BM admiral blue. I would call it a dark royal blue instead of navy blue. It's still dark but brighter than navy if that makes sense.

I would go with a lighter wall color (grey or beige or off white). It would make the room look brighter and bigger than the navy. Any accessories would work with these neutral colors.

I like the way the lighter colors look with that black bed. Our bed is lighter then that but were just really stuck on a darker color with lots of white trim..... But at the same time, I'm scared to regret it.... :/. This is frustrating. I wish he would have stayed a little boy in his Lego room forever :)

This is the mirror I made for his hat corner, so he can check himself out when he picks out his ball cap for the day. This is how the ceiling fan will look too.....

Sherwin Williams Indigo, just to give you a visual, maybe it helps you make a decision. Why don't you start with painting the wall behind the bed, that is now multicoloured, in a dark blue and decide from there. it's only paint. I like the idea of painting the entire room, but you have to keep in mind that it will make the room darker. If you don't mind that... :-)

Love it! The dark blue makes the room really calm and cosy. Very nice. Love what you've done with the fan blades. 'Curtains' are nice too. Thanks for the update :-)
