Looks good to me I like that print you have in it,nice and bright.As for the corners,IMHO when you cut on an angle or curve it doesn't ravel as much as it would if you were on the straight of grain,Its like on a bias,you can't ravel it.JMHO

Good looking rag quilt Nina, as for the rounded corners mine looked the same raveled out right to the stitching why I don,t know other than it being on the bias, wish I had mentioned something before, the last quilt I made I went back the the square corner, you didn,t do anything wrong.

Yay, your first rag quilt! They're so much fun, and they just get softer the more they're washed when made with flannel. I'm learning with each one posted too! --Amy

I noticed that some of my outside edges did the same thing as your corners--unravelled right back to the stitch line.

On my quilt, I clipped the outside perimeter at a 45 degree angle as someone suggested to see if it made a difference.

I would say it did, however, most of the squares ragged just fine and they were all cut the same.

Where's Dr. Science with the answer to this one?

I love the material, you did a great job. I never do curve corners only squares, so I'm no help at all.
We went to a craft show this AM and a lady had totes she had make with raggedy edges. To me they were ugly because she had clipped so far apart they were not frayed very well. I know people that do this with a quilt that will be washed because it will eventually frey but I don't think a tote will be washed that much.

Very beautiful rag quilt, my first one is in the washing machine now for the second time, I hope it turns out half as good as yours, I too have learn alot (everything) about ragging here.

Looks good to me. I have only made a demim rag quilt but hope to do something different one of these days. I've wondered how it works with cottons. Can you use cotton or do you have to use flannel? I think we need a class on rag quilts. Jayne

Jayne-I have made a couple of raggy quilts with regular quilting cotton fabric using muslin as the middle layer, they ravel out good. I posted a picture of the last one somewhere in the forum.

I really need to say thank you to everyone for your nice comments about my rag quilt, even though itÂs not one of my pride and joys, it is growing on me. I have been using it on the couch while we watch TV and I do like playing with the fringes. DH likes it and you guys do too, soÂÂ
