What is the deck material? Thank you.

We have Brazilian cherry floors in our living room, and I am trying to select a compatible material for the adjacent deck. I'd appreciate your comments. Thanks.

The decking is Ipe, a Brazilian hardwood. The color would go great with Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba). It is very useful for outdoor decking as it has termite/rot resistant properties and extremely dense (2x that of oak, 30% harder than Brazilian Cherry). Left untreated, it would weather to a silver/gray and last 25+ years. We recommend keeping up with the simple maintenance of oiling every 9-12 months to keep the rich color and extend the life to 75+ years.
