Honestly I'd get a different rug and coffee table. That table looks too frail for the room size. The rug should be something more dramatic, bringing in the blue and not striped. Could be something as simple as a blue shag area rug in the living room and the same shag rug in cream in the dining room. Or something like these. Also the couch is too big for so many little pillows. Put a throw on the couch. You need some softness and texture in the room. Looks like you could use a lamp on the table behind the sofa. Coffee table should be more like this, with curves to it. Glass top will show off area rug. Add colorful tray/books/candles for added color.
