Maybe a frieze carpet with some color variation in it. You can even buy a length and have it cut, felt-backed, and the edges bound. We have done this in two rooms in our house and they look and feel great!

How about a patterned rug that mixes beige and grey. Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware have a nice selection.

The room lacks contrast, so I'd go fairly plain and dark.

Roxanna, I think you can do a brown so dark it's nearly black, but a plain black might look 'dead' in the middle of the warm browns and beiges.

Agree with Rina. I wouldn't do black, but a very dark brown, or very dark anything, really.

You have a lot of "beige" going on here. I suggest your rug be a pop color to add some interest to the room. Pull the color through the rest of the room with some coordinating pillows or décor items like wall art. I suggest going to your local carpet store and select a color and perhaps a high/low pile that adds texture to the room, but not a busy pattern. They will either bind it for you at the shop or send it out. It is safer this way as you know exactly what you're getting.

Those photographs look really special, Roxanna. I'm presuming they are the same size? Would you consider putting the thinnest of frames around them? -- there's probably a name for this kind of frame, but I don't know what it is. I've had it done on mounted posters and it gives a very neat finish. It's more of a rim than a frame.

I would introduce another color to give the room a spark. What color will depend on the rug you ultimately choose. Here is one idea with the rug linked above:

The photographs are a wrapped canvas of 2X3 and the colors of the wall are the same all around the living room. The color of the wall is a classic silver.

I really like the pop of teal but I am still undecided on the rug maybe if i see it in person it will look better.

Gosh, Roxanna. These pics can be so misleading! That back wall looks on my screen like a very pale silvery blue-grey, and the others like pinkish beige. Sigh. Well, as long as we all know we're confused we can fight our way through to a solution.

I also like Groveraxle's teal as the 'pop' colour -- to be worked in to a greater degree, perhaps, as the room develops. I'd like to see art that uses colour to the left of the window, and that might help you tie the accent colour into the room. But I agree that your first decision is the rug. It's a big-budget item, so you want to be happy with it.

Roxanna, I hate to be picky--OK, that's a lie because picky is what I do best--and you've done a really nice job with this room. But I'm not crazy about the aspect ratio of your photos. I'd like to see them cropped so there is less background and the photos are more square or even portrait format. Then I would add a third photo to the mix. The photo that is your avatar would be a great one to add. The whole grouping will be taller, have a better aspect ratio, and cover more of the wall, like so:
