Our home is a modular with 2000 sq ft. The living room at 20x40 is very spacious. It separates 2 of the bedrooms and a bathroom from the master and the kitchen. Our living room starts at the front door and extends to our addition for our new addition (baby:))
First when you walk in the living room from outside, one foot to the right is the right wall, with master bed and kitchen entrance, to the left (roughly 19 feet) is the left wall, entrance to the 2 bedrooms and a bath with short hall. On the farthest wall is the addition and a fireplace in the left corner.
From the front door we have left a 6 foot wide walkway behind the couch. The "entertainment area", for lack of a better word, is your typical tv viewing area to your left from the front door. The couch with coffee table and tv directly across against the left wall. Two chairs with end tables flanking. The closest chair, again from the front door, has two windows behind.
That is where we start to fall a little short on designing. We have an additional 20x20 space that we have no idea what to do with. On the farthest wall, from left to right is a corner fireplace, 50 gallon fish tank, addition's bedroom door, and then about 5 foot to the right wall.
Any ideas on what I should do with this space to make it more, well...used? We don't entertain very often, we do have 3 children ranging in age from 2 - 15, and we don't use the fireplace that much but still like the idea of having it. TIA
