Most ceramic cooktop owners will tell you to use a cleanser or spray made especially for ceramic cooktops. I personally use Ceramic Brite, but there are tons of cleansers out there on the market.

There also is a special pad and razor blade tool to remove dried on debris that is very helpful as well.

Wherever ceramic cooktops are sold, they will have the cleanser and tools available.

Did anyone find out about the backsplash tile? Thanks.

I use a commercial ceramic cooktop cleanser to remove stains (you need to do this constantly, after each use, in order to keep the cooktop looking like new!). Try different bands; some are better than others. After rinsing the cleaner residue off once I've scrubbed the cooktop, I then spray with pure vinegar to polish. My ceramic cooktop is 5 years old now and still looks brand new.
