Please do not paint brick. If you must you HAVE to use brick paint or brick wash. Please do not use paint that is waterproof. brick is porous. it is supposed to let humidity in and out. when you paint eventually water gets in, and has nowhere to go. then it peels and takes pieces of the brick with it.

If you want to update your home then get a new garage door. something in wood, would be lovely. Get rid of the cheap looking storms doors and change your front door to a beautiful wood door or a black door. get rid of those shutters by the big window. they are too small to cover the window and they look a big person with a too short t-shirt: awful.

your house is a beautiful house. keep it classic and you will never lose value.

as a cautionary tale, this is what happens when improper paint is applied to stone, brick or cement . This is going to cost me thousands to repair because the previous owner did not think carefully.

As a painting contractor, I'll have to agree with @sacapuntaslapioz on this. We do paint brick from time to time! It can be done, but then it becomes ongoing maintenance. So if you want the painted brick look, you will be having to scrap off the loose and flaky paint from time to time. Brick just was not meant to be painted. I have seen and worked on some gorgeous painted brick homes though! It is a choice for sure. If you decide to do it, your color selection should work great!

Your brick is beautiful! Don't open that can of worms by painting it. Rather paint the trim from white to a beige/gray as well as the garage door. It will make an amazing difference.

I would not paint the brick, either. But, that is not what you asked. I would do everything white and remove the shutters which do not fit properly. I think painting your home one color will unify the angles and siding.
