Need help/advice for my kitchen

I have solid cherry wood kitchen cabinets which still look great. However, my white appliances are needing replacement. The countertops are white laminate and also needs replacing. Has anyone used the new SLATE color appliances? I have a lot of windows in my home and it is bright and light-filled, thus I believe stainless steel may be too bright. Any advice please?

I agree with sooz001... stainless is classic, not very shiny at all and easier to complement in the event you don't buy all your appliances from the same brand. Personally I think the Slate is more of a brushed nickel.

You should decide on your countertops, then see which color goes best with it. Stainless doesn't shine like a mirror, so it might be all right, and is probably more readily available.

My neighbor just put in the slate appliances and wow do they look great...I think this will be the new "it" color for decorators...as far as stainless there is a brushed version which has a dull finish. Counter tops...if u can afford granite its handsome and a plus for eventual resale.

thanks for taking the time to comment/. I like the granite suggestion and would probably look for a white/light type of color. I would welcome thoughts on replacing door pulls. The ones I have are shiny brass, a product from 1980's, when the home was built.
