HELP! Bathroom Blahs

My husband is remodeling this small bathroom. The tile and flooring are to stay. ( his words) What are some paint colors to use for the wall and what to so with the window and decor. Please advise!

Hi Aking646! I think that it would be a good idea to pull your paint color from within the range of colors in the tile. That way it looks cohesive, and the colors flow. In looking closely at colors in your tile, I am thinking that a tried and true color from Sherwin Williams #6107 Nomadic Desert will work well. Then if you are painting trim and wood work, I would recommend Sherwin Williams #6105 Divine White. If at all possible, it would be a good idea to paint the vanity woodwork the same as the rest of the running trim in the commode area. In addition, I would recommend using an eggshell finish on the walls so that it has a nice sheen, and is wipeable if necessary. With respect to the window treatment, it would be nice to use a woven wood shade that is darker tone, so that you could repeat the oil rubbed bronze tone that is used in the hardware. More photos of a vanity or sink please?? Or at least where the sink and vanity are going would be helpful??!

Sink and vanity is outside room and have not remodeled that. Here are photos. Excuse the mess. Using this area for stuff in other bathroom that we are remodeling too

For that walls in the bathroom I would paint a like olive green color or a dark brown.

I'd do crisp white paint, but on the window/toilet wall, go black. Bring in some turquoise accents with towels, etc. You have enough beige and midtones with your floor and tile.

I was thinking any darker color, like rust or teal, with a gold and bronze glaze over it. It would lighten up the dark color and tie in with the tile. Whatever color you choose I would pick it up in your accent pieces. It's a nice bath!

Please be sure to add the edge trim to the wall tile. Or you could just use an off-white chair rail molding. It needs either to make it look finished. I would not use black paint in your room as the walls must be absolutely perfect & I'm not sure yours are. Sorry. Like the idea though in a larger full bath. Buy sample paint cans of a very light teal (almost white). Paint poster board & try in the room. If you like the teal, use that as a saturated shade in the towels (all the same). The window can have a silouete shade that is installed sideways w/o hardware in white. It can be moved from the bottom part or the top part of window depending on your privacy needs. Can be purchased very cheap from Ikea.com. Take a look. Hang a very small wall shelf so it won't be bumped into & add a live chartreuse orchid.

The shade from Ikea is $2.99 & is 74 3/4" long X 35 1/2" wide. If installed sideways the force of the fullness holds it in. It also comes w/ velcro installation parts. It can be cut to size & is made of polyester. Great, huh?
