I just had the trim craftsmen put them up Inam meeting with the Medallion rep today Weather permitting I am beside myself The whole idea of the off white cabinet with cocoa glaze was for the versatility The upper cabinets and one long door looks like they are greasy ?? Any advice or what are my options?? Help Nothing against yellow but they will even get more yellow in time!! ;(

I am not a fan of yellow but I like these. One thing I learned from my kitchen Reno - don't panic until it's done. Nothing will look right until you have hardware, etc. here is a photo of cabinets that look similar in color.

Could it be your lighting? Or your wall paint color? Have you compared the cabinets to the sample you chose from? I've had issues with painted cabinets & lighting in homes in the past.

If the color matches the sample, Medallion will not do anything.

Try searching houzz for cream cabinets. You might feel better. I also doubt they will do anything unless there's an actual mistake but I think you can work with these.

Just primer on walls The cabinets are very pretty but too yellow for my taste and longevity... I was going to paint the walls a greige But now if I get stuck with these I will have to do mushroom mocha or beige To keep it warm Certain colors will make it look more yellow !!Even scared to get locked in with this color for granite or quartz countertops SO UPSET $$$ pricey too How can it be fixed??

I think the above posters are trying to gently tell you that unless you return the cabinets (your $$), or have them painted (also your $$) that there is no "fixing" this. it sounds like you picked the color, and it's a case of buyers remorse. My recommendation is to get the rest of the kitchen done, maybe get a professional designer to come out to your home to help you find a complimentary countertop material and paint. That will lessen the "I hate these" panic....and then down the road awhile, if you still hate the color, well then...bite the bullet and have them painted. Surely paying someone a couple hundred dollars now to either "get it right" or "almost right" will be worth the emotional pain I know you're going through now.

I would gladly return cabinets Haven't put my present home for a Sale yet?? They cabinets are not the same as sample even the kitchen planner said so. Plus some doors are different shades. They even look like they are greasy on top ;(I know I can make them work.... But why??? It wasn't what I ordered??

They are fine. You need to work WITH them, and the room will be fine. You CHOSE glzing, which always looks dirty, even when they are not. The beauty of glazing is that no two doors look the same. It's done by hand, not machine. You DID get what you asked for with the glazing. Just calm down and it will be fine. Buyers remorse isn't doing you any favors here.

Firmly ask them to take them back. If they have a old sample how is that your fault. and take a recorder in your purse next time you speak with that rep.

you got what you paid for, off white cabinets. Nothing at all wrong with your cabinets. If you wanted bright white, you should have asked for it.

diyher, the owner has stated that what she/he asked for was the sample they had at the showroom, which even the rep has acknowledged is NOT what she/he got. That is dishonest business practice, no matter which way you look at it.

Speak to the rep first. The company may come up with other options such as paint or replace. There's no use panicking or planning a new colour scheme until you have a definitive answer. I do hope it all works out and you get exactly what you want!

Yikes! Old samples are a big problem in the industry! Any answers from the company or rep yet?

I think the cabinets look great! The key is to work with the color rather than against it. I feel like the clash of white from your walls is making them look yellower and "dirtier" than they are. I think a beige with yellowish undertones on your walls would help you like the color of the cabinets a lot more. As for countertops, you said the glaze was "cocoa", so I think your best bet is to stick with something with some browns and golds in it.

Sample was nineteen years old? My goodness, exposure to the sun, etc. makes a big difference in how cabinets look after that long, not to mention the company could have changed glazes used and more during all those years. Hopefully your designer will be a voice for you. If you used a credit card to purchase with, they might also help.

colors can alway be found to help. first thing is getting an answer about cabinets.

@ Carol that is the problem The sample I was given was 10 years old (with the finish I wanted on it)I went back and asked where the door was that suppose to be the finish on my door ordered....She showed me and I of course said I would have never picked that finish Too much yellow!?? Now I got a bid from a Master craftsman to refinish all baked glazed cabinets in the off white w cocoa glaze...Yikes on top of the $35,000 the quote was $6500.00 ;( ;/!! The Medallion Rep has picked up a door from the Master bath cabinet Same problem in the Masterbath;( Still waiting to hear .... Patiently waiting Plse say a prayer for me Ty and have a great day ;)

If your cabinets were hand glazed you will naturally have some differences as hand done objects should be. I love the choices you made for other surfaces in the kitchen except am concerned about the stacked stone. If this is the rough style of stacked stone, either rethink this choice (a lot of grease back there) or make sure there is a good sealer on them. I would get my lighting changed in the kitchen & bathroom before chucking out more hard cash. Go to a lighting expert. Try to go with LED, run cooler, last 20,000 hours, cost effective and Ikea is having a sale on their LED bulbs right now. Please hope you can get this resolved w/o money or too much more worrying.

This kitchen has off white cabinets with a cocoa glaze and morning fog glass subway (gray) backsplash tiles, and I think it looks amazing. I think it's probably best to wait until everything is finished to see if you end up liking it. Can you wait until your counters have been installed to make a decision? What are your floors? Do the cabinets in this picture look more like the sample?

If they messed it up, they should fix it. It sounds like they got it wrong. Hold firm that they fix it. Doesn't matter if someone else likes it. You don't have to accept something you didn't order.

That is a ton of $$ for something you don't like!! I wouldn't pay.

Wow, why didn't you get a new sample door from your KD? We got one to keep from our KD and a counter sample and we are spending a little less than you. I'd be really upset. You might have recourse in small claims court. See if the KD will cover the $6,500.

Stand your ground if you have a warranty. I had problems with Quartz countertops and it took almost two years of back and forth with company but finally got them replaced. As I told them, if they bought a t. v. From Best Buy and something wasn't right they'd be high tailing it in and expecting a quick resolution. If housing materials have an issue it shouldn't be such a long and difficult matter to get taken care of. Take lots of photos.

You already have many finishes going on and the stone has variation, so while you can pick one color out of the stone, I don’t think it will look better than doing it the same as cabinets (correct) or island color.

Do I have too many finishes?? The men say dark I don't like the yellow in cabinets I want the color probably most light in the marble backsplash?? Plse advis Thx ;)

So, are they planning to replace the cabinets? If not, I agree with adalisa-don't add another color. I think you have to paint the hood the same color as the cabinets or the island as in the pictures below. Your kitchen is looking great!

We owned a cabinet company for years in Chicago and if the finish didn't match, we had to work it out with the customer. So yes, it was our fault. Your kitchen is beautiful!
