    Its actually a standard drywall ceiling. We tiled all the walls (floor to ceiling) for splash protection but left the ceiling with standard smooth painted finish.

    So there are is no need for wood ceiling or other materials? Due to humidity and corrosion. Also is a vapor barrier installed on the walls and ceiling?

    Clarification: The drywall does have a humidity resistance with a vapor barrier. Look into dryvit
