I've been lurking here for a while now, but this is my first time posting because I have a serious dilemma.

We're finally painting our front door and removing the security door, and while the security door was the first thing I wanted to tear out when we moved in a year and a half ago, I can't imagine not having one now! I've considered a screen door but don't feel that it's safe enough for my two rambunctious toddlers and a storm door makes no sense to me since we're in California and I have the front door open year round for sunlight and fresh air, so I think I've decided on a steel mesh security door.

I'll be painting it the same color as our front door and that's where I get totally confused. Our house is grayish with tan and green undertones and has some whitewashed brick. I like black, deep dark charcoal, or a dark plum or wine, or even a deep forest green. But the more I look the more confused I get! Now I like mauve and lavender and aqua too! Please help! All suggestions are welcome:)

PS changing the door is not an option now so painting will have to do!
