I am keen to know what type of bamboo, in terms of shade, colour and finish. I have located the Jacobean stain but keen to know what is the best wood. Thanks!

I like dark stains and Jacobean is one of my favorites. Each wood species will take the stain differently. I think the bamboo took this stain beautifully and is a green product. Walnut and oak will also look great. Be careful with walnut and large dogs...been there.

What company's can install this type of flooring... I need new flooring for my whole house.. It's 2500 square feet.. Can you help me..

I can't believe that is bamboo floors. I have been wanting new bamboo floors but worried about durability. After seeing these floors I'm sold on bamboo.

@jfblake, I believe he was referring to the fact that walnut is a fairly soft wood, and active, large dogs tend to cause damage to it.

Not 100%, but almost positive that's what Michael is talking about.

The trick with big dogs over softer floor is to make their nails stay well trimmed. We have a client with Great Danes over Walnut. The dog bowl area has some marks but the rest of the house is fine. Here are some recent walnut floor shots :-)

How do you feel about a high gloss finish?

I wouldnt do it with Walnut. We have a client in NJ that just put down 10" Quarter Sawn White Oak floors with a gloss finish. They look great.

Our house is under construction. The floors are white oak. Our builder uses oil based minwax stains. Our cabinets are dark cherry. How dark should the floors be? Is it true oil based minwax stains are matte?

The matte finish comes from the polyurethane that is applied over the stain itself.

Thank you! Can you recommend an oil based minwax stain that would complement dark cherry cabinets?

FYI: Regarding the gray paint color "Revere Pewter"...do not get any Benjamin Moore paint schemes mixed/color-matched at Home Depot, they all come out very tan (They do not carry BM. They use Behr to try and match the color, and it never comes out right.) If you have to use Behr, use

    Behr:
Natural Gray PPU18-10 or Natural Gray UL260-11

May look too subtle at first, but once the ceiling and base/crown are painted white, the gray will pop off the walls. Looks amazing.

Would you know where the horse painting came from?

I am also keen to know where the horse painting came from. Of course living in Lexington, KY (horse capital of the world) we live and die by our beloved horses.

I would like to purchase the painting if possible. The color would match my house perfectly!

    Thank you for suggestions
