Hi everyone! I bought two potted dahlias at an end-of-season sale locally. They were just budding when we got our first cold snap, so I moved the pots into our old garage. They stayed there until a couple of weeks later, when I moved them into the house because we were bracing for a sub-zero blast. The buds shriveled up, and the plants didn't do much at all for quite some time. Then they started to grow! One is almost 3' tall now. Do you suppose they will bloom when the weather warms and I'm able to get them in the ground, or do they require a real period of dormancy to do so. Thanks for your expertise!!
