I generally don't use any peat moss for anything, it doesn't drain too well. That could be what's causing the problem. I don't have any experience with growing Theobroma in pots, mine are in the ground. However, they do like moist but well drained conditions.

The yellowing is occurring both top and bottom.

Have you watched the Logee's video on growing cacao? They imply that it is common and tend to think that leave browning is more of a water quality issue (chlorinated water vs rain water).

I have 4 in pots (kept outside until the temps are going to be down to mid 50's), one 6-7' tall, other 3 about 3' tall, all of them have brown leaf tips except for the youngest growth. My leaves look like the ones in the video. The tallest has not flowered yet, had it about 2 years.

Yes. I did watch the video. I wish there were more cacao grow videos on YouTube. I can't find enough. I will test the ph again to check. I am using reverse osmosis water.
