In need of some thread help, please.

I'm working on 3 small lap quilts for my daughter's boss's mother. She sent them to me sandwiched and sort of pinned. I loaded them in the frame, removed the pins smoothed the tops and started. Half way through the first one, the thread started breaking. OK, wasn't a new needle, so changed that, then started rail-roading, so loosened the tension. Thread kept breaking, but managed to finish. Second one, thought it may have been a bad spot in the thread, so changed to a different color, still breaking. Thought perhaps it was a bad pack of needles, so opened a new one, still breaking. Cleaned the tension mechanism, still breaking. Taking a break now before I start throwing things.

I usually use Warm and Natural batting, she used a thin polyester. I am using the same thread and needle I use with the W&N, could this be the problem. Do I need to change or adjust something else?

Gonna take a break and clean my sewing table to get ready to put on the bindings.
