I only have experience using Duralee velvet used to make accent pillows. It was a while ago, I think I bought it online from Fabric Carolina . On their site, I see it's $50.98. It's 57" wide, so you get a lot of fabric in a yard. Many sites will sell Duralee velvet.
What are you making with it?

Moss to me is literally the color of moss. I know names and such can be almost anything, but I am looking for the moss color in the middle of my collage to the left where there is the ribbon:

I am making arm cushions for an Arabic-style floor sofa. I made a link below to what I'm talking about. You generally pile them two high. They are generally about a yard per cushion of 57" fabric, so that's why I'm trying to keep it low, under $20 per yard. :)

One way to keep the cost down is to have velvet on one side of the pillow & another less expensive fabric on the other. Also, you could eliminate the piping. Or, do the piping in a less expensive fabric.

I love the feel of velvet, so I would likely go with it on both sides of the pillows.

Consider using suede microfiber or the "wale-less corduroy" for a soft look at less than velvet pricing.

I wasn't going to do piping. I have access to a short pile chenille, but I was hoping for something longer. I may need to go in that direction as for some reason the color is difficult to come by. You guys have given me some great links and ideas though, thanks!

The short pile chenille may be your best bet. Some velvets will retain "seat imprints" (or to be less-than-delicate: butt prints). I don't think you'll have that trouble with chenille.

Bbstx-- haha, true! this was for the arm cushions though, but then it could have arm and elbow prints.
