no brown or yellow, really ? that leaves you with about 25- 35 percent of the color spectrum, plenty to work with. i'm going to stand on my head to study these pictures:-). you understand that a complimentary and contrasting colors are at the opposite side of the color wheel? the complimentary color to your cabinets is a light green . how about a drift wood stain (light warm gray) with a hint of green? it sounds weird , but it'll give you the contrast you want in the kitchen, in the dinning room? who knows. that's all i've got.

The cabinets and trim have also really yellowed or gotten reddish orangish. I would I guess like the floor to be a bit darker than the other wood but yet go together. Probably an impossible feat when we have so many wood types. Any other stain suggestions? Thank you

I think ,maybe English walnut stain would work well. It has the color base of rich copper. That color on the multi colors of your maple floor gives it the look of a more exotic wood. Also allows you to put it on as dark as you like without making the wood muddy. Use a slow drying deep penetrating stain. I'm fond of minwax. If you can't find English walnut look for light walnut, not American walnut. Feel free to ask questions.

jen g92 i need to correct myself. i said light walnut, but i meant medium walnut. however,if you really want contrast between the floor and the cabinets, look at dark or extra dark walnut. they are all the same color , they just start off darker in color.

No clue why this is upside down! But wanted to show you what we did and love! They put down one coat of Amber seal then 2 coats of the Bona finish. Looks great but we do have a few hairs and few other things under finish. They drive me crazy but they say they will wear off.
