homersmom, may I suggest, then that you write a good review on Angie's List for the painter. A great review is worth a lot of money to people like that, and you got a great deal.

I have the exact same desk/hutch. The top "drawer" pulls out for a mouse pad etc and the bottom three "drawers" open like a door, that's where we have our printer. Purchased it about 15 years ago, not long after we got our first computer. It has held up well, mostly solid wood and heavy as lead!

It looks great and is one of my favorite color combinations. When we bought our house, my husband bought me season 1 of Murphy Brown because he remembered that whenever we watched the show, I would always comment about how much I loved the green and natural wood on the walls.

Great deal getting it done for $100. Bonus.

I just finished putting the bookshelves back and I noticed that the color changes to a blue green in the evening - perfect!

msmagoo - we purchased our hutch at the same time! We've been in our house for 16 years, and I believe we bought the hutch during our 2nd year in the house.
