It is an area where two person access and use design is lacking in kitchens. Two faucets for a large sink is a good option if you have the floor space for two users. Like not at a inside corner. Outside corner or angle access for the second user works. Kohler Karbon could work.

It will take more than just new counter. I am guessing you know you will need to add a separate water line as well. Seems like a lot of work for something that could be solved with a conversation. ðÂÂÂ

LOVE my large sink with two faucets for multiple users, as a2gemini posted above.

Here is a picture during the full Thanksgiving prep a day after the plumber attached everything.Two of us prepping veggies and my mom on the other side of the peninsula supervising and making sure the others did not go hungry while waiting for the Thanksgiving meal. It's great having access to water from all sides of the peninsula.

a2gemini and scrappy--love love love this example. The detailed thinking that's gone into scrappy's kitchen is fantastic! But now I feel I wouldn't be taking full advantage of the two faucets/1 sink because my sink is NOT situated on the peninsula leg of my U. Arrgh! This project won't happen if it creeps across the aisle.

scrappy--how wide is your sink? And also, in the photo above, what are you using that white bucket for? I think I have the same buckets living under my sink for recycling.

You certainly don't need the sink in a peninsula to take advantage of two faucets. You will notice that the two preppers are on the same side in the picture above! Don't let "perfect" be the enemy of "good".
I have the Stages 45 which has a 31 inch deep portion and a 14 inch ledge. I think your large Silgranite sink probably is a similar size to the deep portion of my sink and should work fine. If you were looking for a new sink I I would recommend the Ticor 4000 which functions like the larger Stages sink, but I do not think it is necessary for your situation.

If it helps at all, this is what I'm thinking about too, 2 faucets at one sink. Really can't fit in a prep sink (though I keep trying!), and same issue--dish-washing-type (me!) washes the dirty dishes when cook is cooking, and cook wants to wash raw chicken off her hands or fill a pot....

How wide do you guys think is "wide enough" for a 2-faucet sink? So far, both examples have pretty huge sinks...though can you wash hands over that 14" shallow bit on the Stages?

scrappy, I agree totally about the perfect being the enemy of the good. Also the enemy of the "done"!

megan, it seems to me that any sink that's wide enough for two people to use it simultaneously is large enough for two faucets. My husband and I use the sink at the same time--we just need different water temperatures. Floor space and sink space are shareable; only the faucet itself is a point of contention.

Hi Houzzers! It’s 2025, and I found this 2014 discussion that I’d love your input on. For those of you who installed two faucets at one kitchen sink, how did that turn out for you? I’m planning on having a 36” sink, and I’d like to know, is 36” wide enough for two faucets or does the sink need to be wider for two faucets to work? I don’t have enough space for a second sink. Please provide your thoughts!
