I have gutted my 1946 cottage like home. Have saved the original 5 panel interior doors. Am trying for a more transitional look with contemporary light fixtures, trim choices etc. The color scheme is grey,taupe, mocha, buttery yellow and glacier, a blue green as a primary color. I would like the walls to be a soft taupe with ultra white woodwork and doors. I am wondering about door hardware color/finishes. I am thinking black? I am restoring original double hung windows and will be using brushed nickel for the very small locks and the handles. But brushed nickel on door hardware seems not right to me. Suggestions. I don't have photos because all I have in the house are 2 x 4's. Planning, planning planning :)
