We are adding a reverse gable and finally changing out our front door and am considering painting our brick. The hardy plank siding is 2 years old, so have thought about painting the brick to match. Cost of maintenance is not a problem. My inclination is to wait until the reverse gable is put on and see if I need to.

I am inclined to have the gable extend out and adding additional columns on the base of the bluestone step. Any gable design suggestions/designs here are appreciated. I am also thinking I really like to keep double front doors but go hardwood (I have dogs that sometimes scratch o come in!) ) like mahogany with glass on the top half of the door rather than using sidelights. I don't think there is room for any trim. I don't love the look of fiberglass but if I went this route, I would consider a red, or black. I am not willing to spend the money on wood and then paint it. Something about a wood door when there is an unpainted brick, I think ties things together.....

Anyway, starting his project in the next few weeks, so any suggestions are hugely appreciated. Have my decorator coming Monday to make suggestions but I really like the thought of asking a bunch of people rather than just one...... Thanks again!
