Ceiling fans and chandeliers

The house we rent has 2 ceiling fans and 3 chandeliers hanging in the open plan dining/living space. We are redecorating at the moment. Can someone suggest the best way to light the space if we take down the chandeliers. I would like to hang pendant lights but I am wondering if it would look too busy. We need the fans.

That is a dilemma for sure. Are you able to re-purpose the chandeliers elsewhere or perhaps sell them? With regards to the pendants, it depends on your style and what you are trying to achieve. Perhaps something like these orb pendants just off the top of my head?

Also, you may need to look at additional light sources (i.e. table/floor lamps) depending on your lighting requirements.

Thanks! What are your thoughts on some sort of spot light in the corners of the ceiling? The roof goes up in a triangle is there a type of spot light I could use to do that?
