I agree! This is so uncomfortable. I'm trying to get used to it, but I don't think it will ever happen.

If you go to "your Houzz" (upper right on this page), you can find all your posts. I was so surprised when I saw mine, I didn't pay attention to how I "found" them. Suggest you explore.

Thanks Jean001a I did find my posts that way. Maybe I jumped the gun a little, but as I get older its just harder to navigate and adjust to change like this, besides is it just me or does the website seem so bland and not very personal?

I hate it. Somehow I lost my user name in the process. I find the whole Houzz thing really invasive. Not sure I'm sticking around anymore. Blech!

I'm really enjoying the new forum. It's very web 3.0 while the old one was organized more in an early 2000's sort of way. While it worked, there were a lot of tools that I found very frustrating that weren't available. The new photo insertion feature is great, it was annoying to only be able to upload one photo per post and have to tinypic or photobucket several others if you wanted to insert more into your post. Formatting is also nicer, not having to manually use bb code or whatever the formatting had been. In the old layout, I often lost track of my posts if I didn't 'add to notes' or whatever the feature was after every post. Don't get me wrong, I've found myself pretty frustrated with trying to navigate this new layout too.

I'm sure the managers of the site/forum took careful consideration before making the switch but I think it was necessary to help the site prosper and grow even more. I have faith in their vision. I feel like for providing such a great place for finding friends, getting information, and more that they deserve some slack when they make decisions or take actions in the interests of the community and that we should reserve any harsh negative judgement and try to be supportive. This is a free service being provided to us, but we make it great by coming here. I would hate to see even one person leave because of a few layout changes. I'm no expert but I'm happy to try to help anyone figure out anything on the new site if it means they won't leave. :)

Well said and some very good points Cliff, and your expert comments are greatly appreciated!! I am sure many others were as frustrated as I was, as I really enjoyed the forums with Garden Web, and then to have it changed so dramatically really made it difficult for me to adapt. I am not a computer expert and as you said I was here for the gardening tips and was enjoying the forum and comments. Then all of a sudden I felt like the rug was yanked out from under me! Perhaps I was too abrupt with my original post, but again that was the frustration coming out, I will admit I have stayed on, but only because I liked the forum so well. Do I like it now-No-would love to have the original forum back-still I am here and thankful for all the great tips and friends that is what has kept me here. Thanks again for a point so well made Cliff-"Happy Gardening"!!

This is the first comment that I have posted for many months, but I have always enjoyed visiting this site. I get the sense that gardeners are genuinely interested in what they do and are an extremely helpful, generous and giving lot. Do not let the changes in the format of the forum discourage you. I have been with Gardenweb since its inception. There have been many changes - of ownership, format, etc. But one thing that has been a constant is the sense of community and belonging that this site brings to us, gardeners. We, the gardeners, are the ones that make this place thrive!! Let's keep it up.

Hi justme14 - I'm very sorry that you are frustrated. I only see a couple of comments from you on the forums. Is it possible that you might have used a different member name at some point?

I've just signed on after a year or so off this website. I was hoping it was like it was in the past - people were commenting about problems with tomatoes and how they fixed them, the talked about the tomatoes they had great success with and those they didn't and how to get around problems and what zone they were in and weather conditions in those zones. It was great. Everybody seemed to get in on the act and give their opinions. Am I on the wrong gardenweb site? It contained everything about tomatoes, not just
diseases and pests. It was headed 'tomatoes'.
