Sitting area

Just moved in into our forever home. Sitting room is empty the rest of the home has a rustic feel, but I don't want to make the whole house dark and rustic. We have great views of the pool and lake behind us. So I would like to get some of those elements. I have not a clue on how to make my house look like a model some without spending 20,000 in one room. Our budget is 5,000-7,000
