Thanks for the summer reminder. Here's hoping that some of my found dahlias will bloom like this. Great pic. I remember when my father was growing dahlias. He had a number of varieties.

JJ, lots of ways and places to get more dahlias if those found ones don't pan out! Hope they do, though.

All so bright and sunny, Cant wait to get mine in and growing. It is all I can do not starting afew now, but I am afraid thy would be too big to transport home in May. Thanx for all the pix

This thread gives me an excuse to keep looking in my last year's images. I have my whole archive on Facebook under my user name, if folks need more of a dahlia fix. It's public.

If I start potting up tubers, I won't stop until they are all done. It's especially hard keep from starting, as one 'keep' bin in vermiculite is full of leggy sprouts. I'm sure there is a rotting one in there, giving enough moisture to get the others all worked up. All the others are starting to eye up, but can stay asleep for a while longer if I can manage to keep my mitts off them.

Snoho Doris is a wonderful duo-purpose variety that takes the show bench by storm, and looks lovely in a garden setting as well. Bright and cheerful for a chilly but sunny winter day.

Korb's Yellow Hy-Light is so delightful to look at, as the snow still falls softly.

Pooh is one of the best starter dahlias for new growers, providing vigorous growth, constant blooms and tons of hearty tubers.

It also just makes you feel happy looking at it... Who DOESNT love a little bear named Pooh?
