ok here is my story I am redoing the master bath . I am ordering everything I need for a DIY job (except plumbing)

I have many questions and my only guidance is all you wonderful people here .

AS some of you guys may know I ordering the above vanity and my hubby does not care for it? however because of budget we are keeping it. It is listed on ebay but no luck probably because it heavy as hell and expensive. so its going in.

the tub was the cheapest I could find with the features ( so excited to try this aromotherpy and chromotherepy! does anyone here have those features? cusrious to how much you guys like it?

here is the issues ? are the round sinks going to look weird because the tub is so square. Also are these faucet choices okay? I was thinking maybe the square faucet might be weird looking on the round sink ( I am picking stuff out to what I think my hubby will think is a modern spa look, so far I have not being doing to good of a job :( )

Also since the jets of the tub are chrome can I go brushed nickel everywhere else or would that look weird? of course I jumped the gun and ordered that shower panel in brushed nickel but I could return it.

Also do you think the bathtub facet is just to clunky with all those handles and knobs/ should I give up the hand sprayer thingy for more of a clean look?

Also I am trying to put in heated floors , hubby does not want to o it because he thinks its hard to do any reccos on companies that make them that you guys can recommend/ anyone do it themselves and can attest that its easy?

Also I love to now what is your master bathroom must haves? things you though you were so happy you put in and things you regret?

I am thinking about bathroom speakers? however I am not sure how that works or what I would need to order and if its even a good idea ? I saw a bathroom fan with speakers in it. Does anyone have that?

Also what size recessed ligting in bathroom 3 inch 4 inch ? I have 6 inch now and it seems ou of style to me. any thoughts?

Also where is a good place to buy those dimmer switches and high hats?

and one more thing since I am responsible for ordering everything to have for when hubby is ready to do the bath is there any thing you wonderful people can thing of that I missed that is a necessity ? I did order that waterproofing fabric for the shower and the material that goes with it and a niche for the shower.

My evil plan is to have everything here and read to go so hubby is forced to do the job without any excuses. ( insert evil laugh here) lol

So thank you everyone in advance. so far you guys have been amazing. I did post pics of my ugly bath before if you guys want to see the space aain for any reason I can repost it . have a great Saturday!!

    I opened all the links.

1st, I would get well known faucets and not something I've never heard of. If they fail you want excellent warranties. I noticed that these faucets have a flat top. I have one lovely faucet with a flat top and it is always getting spots on it. A rounded spout will shed the water better between hand washing. I have to always keep a microfiber towel at the faucet and clean it up after each wash. My other traditional faucet from the same company is not like this with water spotting. Both are Chrome.

2nd, if it was me, I would stick to chrome, cheaper and more durable in the long run I believe. When I finish this text I am going to link to a sight I used before, because it has a lot of info on bathroom layouts, and faucets. Look around the site for help. I have no interest in this link other than it helped me when I was choosing faucets and planning my layout.

3rd, I know nothing of that toilet but it looks interesting with that flushing system. Keep us posted on that.

4th I put in my own warming floors and had DH help with the pour of self leveling compound (SLC) to imbed the wires. I did not use the matts because of expense. I just saw at Lowes that they now have a NEW Ditra uncoupling membrane that allows the insertion of the warming wires within the Ditra waffles. This, I believe would be great, as one wouldn't need SLC. You'd install the Ditra and then the wires within the Ditra, then tile. At least that is what I think is done. Ditra is a very respected uncoupling membrane. If you have a wood subfloor you will need an uncoupling membrane of some sort. If you go to the John Bridge Tile forum, you can ask all sorts of questions there. They are VERY knowledgeable like Mongo, Bill, and Stonetech are over here. I haven't seen Stonetech so much lately. He is over on John Bridge (but goes by a different name), as is Bill.

You have to know all this stuff before you buy anything else :) There is more to learn and it is fun. Just don't go too fast or you will have over bought and over spent. There is a balance to be made with information and purchases.

Can you just download and post pictures of what you're planning to use?

I would agree totally with what enduring said above about faucets. One would really want something with a good warranty as it is one of the things used so often in the bathroom. We remodeled our mbr last year and while I love our faucets (grohe eurocube in chrome), they are flat on top and I do wipe them down every time I use them. It never occurred to me until I read enduring's response above that a rounded faucet would shed water more easily.

Thanks Edie. Did you have to download those images to your computer before you posted to this site? Or where you able to post, bypassing your computer's hard drive?

no I had to download to my computer. thank you

thank you for the info on that heated floor system. That looks easy ! hubby is really against doing the heating floors because he thinks it out of his DIY capabilities. However I think if I show him that one , I think he will agree to do it. It looks like its no any more work then just laying the tile.
