Thank you so much! I was really leaning toward the glossy white subway tile. I like the beveled but again would really need to trust the installer as I know the grouting would be more difficult. Should I stay warm with the grout rather then grey? My floors are natural light wood.

Mosiac tile and patterns are really making a comeback - just something to consider.

If your installer doesn't want to put it in for you, find another installer. And the tumbled stone doesn't have to come in sheets, either. It CAN be found in single pieces, so you can arrange them in any pattern you wish.

I don't think I would like the crème with your white cabinets. We have white cabinets and Bellingham counter tops which is busy like yours...we did white Subway tile in a herringbone pattern which I just love. Clean and classic.

Thank you all for your comments. I'm going with white subway tile and a stainless steel chimney range hood. This is not my granite of choice but sometimes you have to make do. I'm sure this will be a big improvement and will post pictures when completed.

Looking for more of that exact tile, where did you find it?
