Woohoo! Instead of staring at a TV awkwardly placed above the fireplace, the kids now get to view in home entertainment from their parent's bedroom *through* the fireplace. Someone's thinking outside the box!.

I guess I'm with the originator of the question. I'm in my 50's, my kids are grown & out, grandkids are in their teens so it's just me & my hubby. I too want this see thru both in my bedroom & livingroom. Privacy issues? I guess I wouldn't have any. If I had guests I obviously wouldn't be doing anything in my bedroom to, let's just say cause alarm! But to squelch any nay sayers hmm...a screen of some sort maybe? I rarely have guests, we're home alone more than we entertain & my home design is more for our comfort & tastes than those that might occasionally drop by.

You can get a screen to put in front on the bedroom side. I think it is a great idea!

Great idea. I have a friend that did that, and yes she has a screen when she needs privacy. Go for it!!
