My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

    Thanks. I was thinking of going with a [ground face concrete block[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/love-the-concrete-block-here-dsvw-vd~2859696), but this looks great without the extra expense.

    I'm curious of the R value here. We're considering a similar design but live in Minnesota so R value is very important in the dead of winter. Are there any special steps taken to make the cinder block more energy efficient?

    What did you use to seal the concrete blocks to prevent moisture penetration?

    We're still in the programming phase of our design. We're still in consideration for material set. I love the look, but I have concerns about moisture, efficiency and cracking. Looking for 3rd party thoughts on this since this is all new to us.
