Hello again. This is actually porcelain. We selected porcelain over stone because porcelain is harder and stronger than most stone. Also porcelain known for having low water absorption rates and requiring less maintenance, which is excellent in spaces with a high moisture content such as a bathroom. where did you purchase the porcelain?

The slab can be purchased from Fiandre; this particular porcelain is Marmi Maximum Calacatta in a honed finish. If this is a large project, you contractor should be able to order the slab. We hope this helps and thank you for your question.

How is traction on the porcelain slab as flooring ? I would think it may be too slippery, especially with less grout lines.

We have found the slip resistance of large
format porcelain floors to be good (safe). The matte finish is best.
Most tile products have a coefficient of friction rating that can help
evaluate slip resistance. We always recommend doing a little research before
specifying floor tile. Thanks for the good question.
